Attention Ladies & Gentlemen...did you know you were in the presence of a movie star?
Miss Crista showing off her glamorous side.
The calendar says its October but the weather outside is telling me otherwise. It has been near perfect here with mid to upper 80's during the days and 50-60's at night. Crista has been wanting to play outside all the time and can say "out!" as she runs to the door.
I did a little yard work this week, raking up the few leaves that have fallen so far. Crista couldn't wait to dive into them and play. When she was finished you couldn't even tell that I had raked in the first place!
Going on our morning walk. Reese loves to ride on the back of the stroller!
A couple at church offered Crista a Little Tykes Wave Climber that their granddaughter had outgrown. Crista absolutely loves it and shows NO fear on it! Instead of sliding down like a normal child, she insists on going down backwards, like this...
...and she giggles the whole way down!
The only negative side is that she can't climb up the steps by herself yet and she gets SO frustrated...
Crista's first ride on a horse. She wasn't too impressed.
My little bookworm...
Look at those big brown eyes. How could anyone say no to them?
Our sweet little girl. We're so in love with her!!
As promised, here are a few pictures of our first long bike ride...
Crista ate a good snack before we left. I asked if she wanted to go for a ride on the bikes and she did the sign language for hat (helmet) and tried to say bike, but it sounded more like "by". She's really trying her hardest to talk!
Crista, Mommy & Daddy going on our almost 9 mile bike ride. Crista loved it but we're still having problems with her helmet. We added more padding to it but its still too big and falls in her eyes. But as quickly as she's growing, it'll fit her before too long.
Taking a water break after our ride.
Apparently its more fun to play in the water than to drink it!
Reminiscing...
We've been celebrating with two couples that have recently gotten their Embassy appointments for their Guatemalan adoptions. I've been thinking back to our pick up trip and the excitement and nervousness Jake and I felt with adding a little one to our family. It was such a precious week, filled with special memories of getting to know our daughter and her birth country. We have had such an easy transition with Crista and I pray our friends will find the same joy and satisfaction that we have had with our adoption. Congratulations to Jamie, Laura & Emma as well as to Mike, Robin & Marbella!! Our prayers are with you as you experience the delights of parenthood!
Our first day with Crista. Her eyes looked so sad.
And now, our little ray of sunshine, always smiling and giggling!
