I'm running about a week behind on the blog but I figure better late than never! These pictures are from last week when my parents were up for Crista's first birthday. We had a good visit with them, so good in fact that Crista and I decided to fly back to Georgia with them! Here are a few scenes from last week...
Grandma & Crista

Grandpa & Crista
While my parents were visiting our corn needed picking. Grandpa decided to teach Crista how to shuck corn.

"Ok, Grandpa. First you break it, then you shuck it then you clean it. Got it!"

"I think I'm ready to try on my own."

"Like this, right?"
"So much hard work, but worth it! YUM!!"
I didn't make my parents work the entire weekend! I let Grandpa play with Crista too! She loves going for rides in her red wagon!
These pictures are from Crista's actual birthday, Sunday July 29th.
Happy Birthday Crista!!
At our church we have a special tradition we do every Sunday. Jake asks if we've had any birthdays in the past week and if you did, you walk up to the front and you give a penny for each year you've had and get a special birthday pencil. This is Crista getting her special birthday pencil.
In true kid fashion, Crista enjoyed the wrapping paper just as much as the actual gift!
But she liked the gift too!
All children have their sweet moments. I was fortunate enough to capture it with my camera. My mom, Jake, me and Crista went out to eat at Red Lobster Sunday evening and halfway through supper Crista started loving on Grandma. She just grabbed ahold of Grandma's arm and hugged and hugged it. It was really precious!
Stay tuned for updates of our Georgia trip. I've got some really cute pictures to share....
