Santa Claus Is Coming To Town!

Tonight was a very special night...Santa came to Kennard! Its an annual tradition here for Santa to ride around town on the back of a firetruck, with sirens blaring and lights flashing, to announce that he's in town. Then the children flock to town hall to get their chance to sit on his lap. For the past 3 Christmases that we've been here, I've watched Santa ride by the house, thinking it was a neat ritual for the children of Kennard. This year it was extra-special because we got to share it with our own child!

Here we are, waiting for Santa to come down the street. We could hear the sirens long before we actually saw him. Crista wasn't sure what to think!

This isn't a very good picture, but this is Santa on the firetruck. There were also 3 other vehicles with Santa's that had lights and sirens to help announce his arrival. It was loud!

Crista meeting Santa for the first time. While waiting for our turn, Crista would point to Santa and Jake and I would ask, "Do you want to sit on Santa's lap?" Crista would always answer, "Ma'am" and shake her head yes!

But when it came time to sit on his lap, Crista changed her mind.

Santa told me to sit on his lap (not too sure about this Santa)with Crista in my arms. Didn't turn out too well...

But in the end, Crista was happy, eating her well deserved candy cane!
