Crista is without a doubt a ray of sunshine! Just look at this sweet face! She's such a happy girl and loves to be the center of attention! She's got the funniest expressions I've ever seen on a baby!
LATEST DEVELOPMENT:
1. Crista LOVES her sippy cup. We have to hide it during our meals and give it to her only after she's finished eating because once she sees her cup, all she wants is to drink. She gets so upset if we take it away from her!
2. Crista started standing on her own this week. The longest has been about 10 seconds! We also have a walking toy that she loves. She gives the biggest grins when she can walk "by herself". She thinks she's a big girl now!!
3. Crista has been babbling for the past couple of weeks (dada, baba, mama) but this week she said "Mama" and patted my chest! She knows who I am! How sweet it is the first time your child calls you "Mama"!!!
Crista and Reese are really enjoying each other. We only have Reese a couple more days and then we'll be finished for the summer. I know Crista will miss having a playmate and I'll miss my little helper!
This week was finally warm enough to go swimming! Crista couldn't wait for the pool to fill up and you can see in the first picture that she wanted to play in it right away! The water was a little chilly so Crista didn't want to get too wet but she loved sitting in shallow part playing with her favorite 2 toys: a plastic crab bath toy and a plastic toy hotdog that goes to the kitchen set. We do have really nice toys for her (dolls, block, musical toys, etc) but she wants these 2-go figure! Crista has been crawling around the house all week with this red hotdog sticking out of her mouth-very ladylike, I know!
Crista had her first experience on a trampoline this week. The jury is still out whether she likes it or not!
Saturday ended up being a wonderful day! Crista just loves being outside, just doesn't care to crawl in the grass much. Here are a few pictures of Crista in our backyard.
These last two pictures were taken today at a family cookout. One of Crista's back teeth is trying hard to push its way through so she wasn't feeling her best today. Even so, we had a good day!
Funny story to end this posting on:
Today was my Sunday to do children's church. So I took Crista with me and put her in her special chair with some snacks, thinking that would keep her occupied. I mentioned earlier that Crista's back tooth is trying to come in and it was making her a little cranky this morning. I had 3 girls in class with me (9, 5, and 4 years old) and they asked why Crista was crying and fussing. I explained that a new tooth was coming in and sometimes it makes the babies a little fussy. Just a little while after that Crista all of a sudden started crying and one of the little girls said frantically, "OH MY GOSH!!! ITS COMING IN NOW!!!"
