Happy Mother's Day...a little late

This year Mother's Day was very special to me. Here are a few pictures from my very first Mother's Day! It turned out to be a wonderful day in spite of the cold front that moved through Saturday night. Crista and Chaney couldn't play in the little pool we bought for them but they both enjoyed the swings and just being outside in the sun. We had Jake's family over and grilled hamburgers and brats. We had a wonderful day!

This week I started keeping Reese again full-time. Crista loves having a playmate and grins every morning when she sees Reese walk through the door. At times its been a little rough as they've learned to adjust to the other but as you can see they get along great with each other.

I mentioned before a cold front moved through earlier this week. I actually had to get out a sweater and hat for Crista! Where's the warm weather (it is MAY, right?!)???
PS- Crista's scrunched up nose has returned! Watch out for it!

Crista and Reese decided to play dress-up. Don't you love the beads and handbag!

The T-shirt Crista's wearing says "Adoro a Mama" which translates to "I adore my Mama!" I thought it was appropriate for Mother's Day week!

Crista is also standing very well as long as she has at least one hand on something stable. She's getting braver though and tries to let go completely. She can hold her balance for 1-2 seconds before falling to the floor. It won't be long and she'll be standing on her own!

The sweeter side of Crista. She hardly stays still long enough to get a "sweet" pose. She's a girl on the go! The last of these 3 she's grinning at Jake because he just walked in the door from work. If I got that kind of reception every time I came home from work, I would consider finding me a job! (Just kidding honey!)

I have to say, that when it comes to eating, we have a champ! Crista will eat anything we give her! Some examples of "strange" foods for a baby to like: all fish, but especially tuna, scallops, tomatoes, broccoli, celery, and asparagus! We haven't found a fruit she doesn't like and I guess that goes for veggies too. This picture shows how well Crista liked her asparagus at supper tonight! Its so hard to believe that when Crista was placed in our arms almost 3 months ago, she couldn't eat anything solid-stage 1 foods were almost too much for her. She has progressed so well. We're so proud of her!

Latest Development: Crista can hold her own sippy cup! She LOVES to drink out of her sippy cup and does really well with it.

Well, that's all for this week. I know there were a lot of pictures but it was a busy week! Until next week...
