Crista has become quite independent lately. She no longer needs her Mama for many of the everyday tasks like she used to. She can get into her booster seat at the kitchen table, and buckle herself, without any assistance. She can go to the potty all by herself (can even wipe herself too!). And Crista feels she needs no help when singing. I'm constantly hearing, "Mama, you no sing. Crista sing by myself." And the poor child is convinced she can tie her shoes by herself. Everyday its the same battle..."Let me do it!" as she tries unsuccessfully to tie them. Then she gets frustrated and starts to tantrum. I offer to help and she says, "No help Mama, I do it myself!" I remind her daily that she's barely 2 and then remind myself her next pair of shoes will be the velcro kind!! But even through the frustrating moments of learning independence, its a joy to watch her develop into a sweet, loving, but determined little girl!
