Apparently the car wasn't the only thing that was dirty.
One of my favorites...planting the garden. Its been so chilly, windy, and now rainy that we just got our garden in this past Monday. We had a great helper this year!
We should have PLENTY of beans this year!
I didn't do a Thankful Thursday this week because it was so crazy around here. We're doing construction on the house so we're down to living in 2 rooms and a bathroom. We're all 3 sleeping in the living room for now so updating the blog after Crista goes to bed is no longer an option. So, I'm going to do my Thursday segment now...
Thankful Thursday
Tuesday night we had another round of severe weather. Tornado warnings, heavy rains, high winds, lightning, thunder, the whole works. Around 3am I heard a loud thud in the back of the house. I wasn't sure what it was but I was concerned enough to wake up Jake so he could investigate. Crista woke up crying so I got her and put her in the bed with me while Jake went in search of my "thud". We waited and waited and Jake never came back. So I decided to investigate. This is what I found...
The ceiling the Crista's bedroom collapsed right over her crib. I forgot to get the camera until Jake had cleaned up a lot of it and covered Crista' crib again, but her bed was full of water, plaster and insulation. Today I am thankful that this happened when it did, with Crista sleeping in the living room with us. If it had not fallen that night and the construction had been completed, and Crista was sleeping back in her own room when this happened, it could have been devastating.
So where did Crista wind up sleeping the rest of that night?
With us! I just couldn't quite bring myself to putting her back in the pack and play after all of that! Thank you Jesus for protecting our baby girl!!
