This past week and a half has been a busy one. Between Father's Day and our first weekend vacation we've had more than enough to fill up our day! Crista is just as sweet as ever and just loves being the center of attention! She's been busy too, growing and learning new things every day. Last week she decided to try the walking thing. She took about 3 steps, which completly shocked me! I wasn't prepared for her to do that just yet! Crista's not walking yet, just practicing by taking a step here and there. I"ve also been teaching her baby sign language. She can already sign "all done", "change me", and "eat" and we're working on "more" and "water". She's learning them pretty quickly (we think she's gifted!)
Here are a few pictures from Jake's first Father's Day. We spent the day over at his dad and mom's and grilled out and had homemade mint-chocolate-chip ice cream for dessert. Yum!

Last Thursday we left for a weekend in Ohio. We had a wonderful trip! Crista was a dream baby and took everything in stride. She actually slept until 7am both Friday and Saturday mornings! That alone made it a vacation!! We stayed the first 2 nights at a state park. They had really nice cabins and a lake to swim in. A cold front moved through Friday morning and it was a little chilly. We actually had to go to Wal-Mart to get Crista and me a sweatshirt! But it warmed up in the afternoon and we were able to get in the lake for a little while (Jake said it was nice, I said it was COLD!) I think we all enjoyed our first family get-away!

Until she got there. It took her a minute to adjust!
But she ended up loving it!
After returning, we had to wash off that yucky lake water. Crista loved her little bathtub. It was just her size!
After a busy day, we all needed a siesta!
We had a great weekend but we're so glad to be back in our own beds!
Crista is becoming more and more independent. She has started to really enjoy feeding herself, something she didn't like to do too much of before because she didn't like to get messy. I think she's over that phase now!
This one deserved a bath, and it was only 7:30 in the morning!
At least she's washable!
