Well, here we are at last. Our plane arrived yesterday in Guatemala around 1:00 local time. Our flight was uneventful and we had no problems making it through Immigration and Customs. Our ride was waiting for us just outside the airport and we were taken to the hotel. We have been very impressed with the hotel. It is a smaller, local establishment. Very Guatemalan. Our room has four large windows overlooking a grassy courtyard and pool with a fountain. The staff has been very patient and extremely helpful. We have everything setup and ready to go. We got a good nights rest and are ready to meet Crista and her foster family today around 10:00AM. We are nervous but extremely excited.

Fun Fact: We are currently in one of the most secure places in Guatemala. The hotel manager told us that President Bush is going to visit in 9 days and a large number of his security staff is staying at our hotel. We're seeing lots of people in U.S. Army fatigues. It makes us feel very safe...
